"In continuation of my "Be Kind" Series, I began to draw inspiration from past iconic paintings and modernise them for 2021. This is a contemporary take on Johannes Vermeer's 1665 painting The Girl with the Pearl Earring. She is dressed in a shirred-bodice, puff-sleeve floral dress, a gingham mask with a tag that says "Be Kind," and long plaited copper hair instead of the shawl from the Dutch painting."
