"Carrying on with my “Be Kind” Series I began to pull inspiration from old famous paintings and modernise them into 2021. So this piece is my version of Roy Lichtenstein’s “Ohhh… Alright…” which was painted in 1964. I like the graphic look of pop art so used only gouache for this piece. And I kept the cool old telephone – how I wish they were making a come-back! “Be Kinder Than You Feel” 2020/21 has made this sentiment more important than ever. Covid lockdowns, isolation, small businesses struggling, money worries, vaccines, protests. Constant uncertainty makes life pretty stressful. But just imagine a world where everyone was kinder than they felt. To our family, to friends, to strangers, to ourselves. It would be quite a different place."
